Axis Bank’s big announcement, penalty will not be imposed even if FD is broken before maturity

This new rule of the bank will be applicable to all FDs and recurring deposits. At present, there will be no penalty for premature closure of new deposits of more than two years.

Axis Bank has said that it will not impose penalty on premature closure of retail term deposits. The bank said that it will not take any penalty for prematurely closing all term deposits on or after 15 December 2020, whose duration is two years or more. Through this, the bank wants to motivate more and more customers for term deposits.

The new rule applies to all FDs and recurring deposits

This new rule of the bank will be applicable to all FDs and recurring deposits. At present, there will be no penalty for prematurely closing new deposits of more than two years. If all the money is withdrawn after 15 months the penalty will be zero. The new feature will be applicable to all new fixed deposits and recurring deposits.

There will be no premature penalty on new fixed deposits of two years duration. Provided that all the money is withdrawn 15 months after the FD is made. Another offering has been made in the new feature. Under this, there will be no penalty on the first withdrawal of up to 25 percent of the principal value of the term deposit.

According to Praveen Bhatt, EVP of Retail Liabilities and Direct Banking Products of Axis Bank, this new feature has been introduced according to the purpose of the bank.
