In fact, to ensure the system of distributing more numbers in future for fixed line and mobile, TRAI’s recommendations have been approved by DoT.. According to the information released by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, it will be mandatory to call zero before the number from 15 January 2021 to make a call on mobile from all fixed lines.
At the same time, in the month of November last year, the Department of Telecommunications had said that landline customers will have to apply zero while making a call from landline to mobile from January 15. The department says that this decision will create possibilities of new numbers in the future. The department says that about 253.9 crore new numbers will be created.
