‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan has been praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sreedharan may soon join the party.
New Delhi: ‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan will join BJP on February 21. Earlier, E Sreedharan said today that I am entering the political arena with the goal of bringing BJP to power in Kerala, I will work for the interest of the state.
He said that I am ready to take over as Chief Minister when BJP comes to power in Kerala. Sreedharan said that if the BJP wins the Kerala Assembly elections, then the focus will be on removing the state from the debt trap and developing infrastructure.
In a special conversation with the news agency PTI, he said that the governor is not interested in assuming the post, he will not be able to contribute for the state while holding such a ‘constitutional’ post, which has no authority.
Sreedharan will formally join the BJP during the Vijay Yatra to be held on February 21, led by Kerala BJP President K Surendran. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off this visit. Sreedharan’s image is of an impeccable bureaucrat.
Sreedharan was born on 12 June 1932 in Palakkad, Kerala. He has gained fame in terms of running the first freight corridor, including Delhi Metro, ahead of time.
