Birthday Special: Cheteshwar Pujara, who is called the ‘wall’ of the Indian Test team, has scored a century in T20, know his interesting records

Wishing Pujara a happy birthday, the ICC wrote on Twitter, “Happy Birthday Vol 2.0 Cheteshwar Pujara. One of the best batsmen in cricket.”

Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been called the ‘wall’ of the Indian Test team, has turned 33 today. Recently, Pujara, who won India’s historic Test series in Australia, has also scored a century in T20 cricket. On his birthday, he was greeted by all veterans of the cricket world including from BCCI to ICC.

Pujara was the fifth batsman in the world to have faced so many balls as the batsmen of any guest team in Australia. Earlier, during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2018-19, Pujara faced 1258 balls and scored the most 521 runs.

Wishing Pujara a happy birthday, the ICC wrote on Twitter, “Happy Birthday Vol 2.0 Cheteshwar Pujara. One of the best batsmen in cricket.”

Pujara is the 11th Indian batsman to score 6,000 runs

In the third Test played in Sydney against Australia, Pujara completed his 6,000 runs in Test cricket. He became the 11th Indian batsman to do so. Pujara achieved this feat in his 134th Test innings.

With this, he also became the sixth fastest Indian batsman to cross the 6,000-run mark in Tests. The list includes Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid.

Pujara has scored a century in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Pujara, known for his slow batting, scored a century in just 61 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019. Pujara, who played for Saurashtra, did this feat against the Railways. He became the first batsman to score a century in T20 for Saurashtra.

Pujara is the Indian who has played the most balls in an innings of Tests

Pujara is the most Indian batsman to have played the most balls in an innings of Test cricket. He faced 525 balls to score 202 runs in the Ranchi Test against Australia. Earlier this record was in the name of his idol Rahul Dravid. Dravid had scored 270 runs in 2004, facing 495 balls against Pakistan.

Pujara, who made his Test debut for India in 2010, has 6,111 runs in 81 Tests at an average of 47.74 so far. Meanwhile, he has also scored 18 centuries and 28 half-centuries. His name has also recorded three double centuries in Test cricket. Apart from this, Pujara has also had a great career in domestic cricket. He has scored 16,096 runs in first class cricket at an average of 52.94.
