In Kolkata, during the protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel, CM Mamata Banerjee survived a fall from a scooter.
Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lodged a unique protest against the increase in petrol and diesel prices. She reached the state secretariat ‘Naban’ on an electric scooter. The scooter was driven by Farhad Hakim, a minister in the state government and the mayor of Kolkata. However, when Chief Minister Mamata tried to drive the scooter herself, she survived.
Mamata Banerjee, who was riding on a scooter, had put a plank on her neck, on which slogans were written against the increase in fuel prices. He was wearing a helmet and while traveling on a scooter for seven kilometers from Hajra Mor to the state secretariat, shook hands on both sides of the road and greeted him.
Mamta Banerjee, who reached ‘Nabanan’ after a 45-minute journey, said while criticizing the central government, “We are opposing the increase in fuel prices. Modi government only makes false promises. He (center) did nothing to reduce the price of fuel. You can see the difference in the prices of petrol of the Modi government and now. ”
He said that the Trinamool Congress will start a protest against the increase in fuel prices from Friday. Banerjee said, “Before coming to power, BJP had promised to provide free LPG connections to the people and now it is increasing fuel prices.” He said, “Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) and Shah ( Union Home Minister Amit Shah) is selling the country. They are selling profit making PSUs. It is anti-people, anti-women, anti-youth and anti-farmer government.
