Mobile towers of Jio were being targeted in Punjab for the last few days in protest against agricultural laws. Now Reliance Jio Infocom has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta, seeking intervention in the matter.

The company said that services of 1561 mobile towers have been disrupted in the state, out of which 440 towers have been repaired. There are a total of 21306 mobile towers in all 22 districts of Punjab.
On Monday, the Chief Minister issued a stern warning to the state police that those who vandalize mobile towers should be strictly dealt with. However, the state police has not registered a single FIR so far in cases of damage to the towers.
