After making the fastag mandatory across the country, the toll related rules will become more strict. Due to this, there will be no jam on the toll.
From midnight today (February 15, 20210) Fastag will become mandatory at the toll plaza. A notification from the Transport Ministry states that at midnight on Monday, all lanes of the toll plaza will become fastag lanes. The ministry had issued a notification of fastag fitment in the M and N categories.
Fastag has been made mandatory for both passenger and luggage trains. At present, 75 percent of the fees charged on toll are being charged from Fastag. Now, according to the new notification, hundred percent fee will be deposited through Fastag.
Can also buy fastag online
NHAI has established more than 40,000 centers across the country, from where you can buy Fastag. Flipkart, Paytm and other digital wallet companies are also selling it.
You can also apply it on the front windscreen of your car after sitting at home. You can also recharge it with UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card. The National Payment Corporation of India has fixed it at Rs 100. Apart from this, a security deposit of Rs 200 has to be made.
This is how fastag works
When a train comes near the toll plaza, the sensor on the toll plaza tracks the fastag on the windscreen of your car. After this, the fees on that toll plaza are deducted from your FastTag account. In this way you can pay the fees without stopping at the toll plaza.
This tag installed in the car starts its work as soon as your prepaid account is activated. If your fastag amout is over, you will have to recharge it again. Fastag is an electronic toll collection technique. It uses radio frequency identification (RFID).
