The presence of the new form of corona virus (N501Y) Crane-Cove-2 will be detected in Punjab. To identify the new form of the virus, the government will send 5 percent samples every week to the major testing institutes outside Punjab and get them tested.
The test samples being carried out in labs in Punjab will be sent every week to the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi and the NCDC Delhi Division of Bio-Technology Epidemology and Central Surveillance Unit.
Air travel ban increased by one week
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “The Joint Monitoring Group has decided to pursue the ban on air travel during the meeting on the situation.” Now air connectivity between Britain and India will be restricted till 7 January.
Bhushan has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of all the state and union territories and has given strict instructions for the next three days.
