Chandigarh: Former Punjab MP Quit BJP in Punjab Harinder Singh Khalsa has resigned from BJP. He has taken this decision by opposing party leaders and the government’s insensitivity to the hardships of farmers, women and children.
The ANI gave information about his resignation on Saturday. In Punjab, BJP leaders are facing heavy dissatisfaction over three new central agricultural laws. Harinder Singh Khalsa, who left the party, has been a Lok Sabha member.
The agitated farmers protest that the market controlled by these agricultural laws will collapse and the government will stop buying wheat and rice at the MSP. Thousands of farmers have been agitating for a month on the borders of Delhi including the Singhu and Tikari borders.
The farmers say that they will not go back without abolishing the agricultural laws. These laws were passed after a brief bus in Parliament in September.
Khalsa won the Lok Sabha election from Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab on the Aam Aadmi Party ticket in 2014, but joined the BJP in 2019. She left the party due to differences with the central leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
