Google and Facebook had a secret agreement to monopolize advertising

New gimmicks are coming out of the big tech companies to eliminate competition in the market. The latest disclosure is linked to a secret agreement between Facebook and Google to monopolize online ad sales.

Court documents filed in anti trust law revealed
Court documents showed that in 2017 Facebook had talked about adopting a new path to end Google’s control in the digital advertising market. However, within two years, the company took a U-turn and announced to join the group of companies supporting Google. According to the information, the disclosure of the deal between the big tech companies to prevent competition in the market has again raised concerns.

Facebook was about to step against Google, but suddenly shook hands
On Facebook, the two companies joined hands on Facebook. Facebook has not yet given a reason for the move.

10 US states revealed
Evidence in an anti-trust lawsuit filed by 10 US states last year has shown that Google has given it many benefits by joining hands with Facebook to stop competition. Interestingly, Facebook has not yet given the reason for pulling off its project against Google.

Wear and tear cleaning did not stop the competition
Former Assistant Attorney General Celie Hubbard at the New York Anti-Trust Bureau says tech companies use different tactics to strengthen each other’s monopolies. Such agreements are common in the digital advertising world and have not stopped competition through this.

Got less attention
Officials at six of the 20 companies that supported Google reported that Google had not kept as generous a provision as Facebook in its agreements with them. He says that Facebook has given more attention to Google than other companies.

Occupy more than half the market
According to statistics, Google and Facebook occupied more than half of digital advertising in 2019. Online advertisements around the world cost hundreds of billions of dollars annually. Researchers say that 60 percent of these ad space purchases are automated.

Google gave special information
According to the lawsuit, Facebook had stated in a blog post that she was associated with Google in the region in December 2018. The company did not make it clear that Google had given it certain information and speed benefits to succeed in the ad auction, which other companies were denied.

Facebook got double time than others
Time is very crucial in the auction of digital advertisements. Court documents state that Google gave Facebook 300 milli-seconds for the auction, while other partner companies got only 160 milli-seconds.
Facebook was also allowed to make direct business relationships with websites on which to view advertisements.

Chat between friends and family will be safe: WhatsApp
Senior counsel Kapil Sibal and Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for WhatsApp in the Delhi High Court on the new privacy policy, said the petition is not eligible for hearing, chat between friends and family will be securely encrypted and it is not collected by WhatsApp, just business chat of the new policy Will be affected.

Policy violates privacy rights: petitioner
The petitioner, a lawyer by profession, said, the new privacy policy violates privacy rights under the Constitution. The petitioner claimed that the new policy allows full access to the user’s online activities and there is no government oversight in it.
