Government can give gifts to central employees on new year, important decision regarding DA possible

Posted on January 8, 2021January 8, 2021 by Nidhi Malviya

The beginning of the new year can be a relief for the central employees. Let us tell you that the Central Government can remove the prohibition on Dearness Allowance i.e. Dearness Allowance by handing over the central employees in the year 2021.

The year 2021 is going to be very good for the central employees. According to reports, the ban on increasing the dearness allowance of central employees by 4 percent in the new financial year may be lifted soon. In fact, the increase in DA was banned in view of the financial difficulties created by the Kovid crisis last year. Since then, many employees were waiting for a decision regarding this. And now it is being estimated that the government is going to remove this ban soon.

DA may increase by four percent
According to several reports, a four percent increase in DA of central employees can be announced in this month. However, so far no official announcement has been made on behalf of the Central Government. At present, central employees get dearness allowance at the rate of 17 percent. If the central government takes a relief decision, then the salary of the employees will not only increase but the pensioners will also get the benefit. According to the news, a decision can be taken to increase the DA of central employees by 4 percent in January itself.

The proposal was passed in March 2020
With the improvement in the economic situation in the country, the possibility of getting the government’s seal on this decision is seen to be strong. However, it is still awaiting approval. Usually, the central government increases the dearness allowance twice a year. The previous proposal for 4 percent increase in DA was passed in March 2020. The proposal brought relief to 50 lakh active central government employees and over 60 lakh pensioners.

This scheme of the central government will benefit all those employees who have been crippled in an accident while on duty. Employees under NPS will also be covered under this scheme.
