The Himachal Pradesh High Court has stayed till 26 March on the order of vigilance investigation of the disproportionate assets issued by Special Judge One Shimla against Chief Secretary Jairam Thakur’s Chief Secretary JC Sharma.
The High Court has stayed this order by the Vigilance Bureau challenging the decision of the lower court. Now on 26 fronts in the case, the court will hear this and issue further instructions.
Let me tell you, the court of Special Judge One, Shimla, while hearing the petition of retired officer of Excise and Taxation Department Geeta Singh, issued an order for investigation in the disproportionate assets case against JC Sharma.
Sources say that since the matter was related to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Vigilance Bureau had approached the government to challenge the verdict or give orders in connection with the investigation.
Following the government’s gesture, the bureau has challenged this decision in the High Court. It was argued that twice this case has been investigated. In such a case, further investigation does not make sense.
Now on the next hearing in the case, Geeta Singh’s side will be presented in the court after which the court will decide further action in the case. Explain, the special court, based on Geeta Singh’s objections, had asked the Vigilance Bureau in January to duly investigate Sharma’s disproportionate assets and submit a report in three months.
