England captain Joey Root had scored an innings of 218 runs in the first Test and now on the basis of his performance, he has risen two places in the list of batsmen to reach number three.
Indian captain Virat Kohli and batsman Cheteshwar Pujara have slipped one place each in the list of batsmen in the latest ICC World Rankings released on Wednesday. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have benefited in the list of bowlers.. In this match, Kohli scored 11 runs in the first innings and 72 runs in the second innings. Kohli has now slipped to number five with 852 points, while Pujara, who scored 88 runs in both innings, has slipped to number seven.
