People have to wait for a long time for a driving license. Now the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is going to bring a scheme in which driving test will not have to be given. The ministry has asked people for suggestions on this.
New Delhi: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a draft notification on Friday for the accreditation of driving centers. A person who has successfully completed driving training from such centers will not have to give a driving test while applying for a driving license. The Ministry has said that this move will get trend drivers to the transport industry and reduce road accidents.
Attempts to reduce road accidents by half by 2025
During this period, the administration of the State Governments and Union Territories, along with other organizations including OEMs, conducts many activities across the country. The aim of the government is to spread awareness to avoid road accidents through such events.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari while addressing the 40th meeting of the Transport Development Council last month emphasized the need to make public transport friendly, safe, cheap, accessible, and pollution free. He also talked about reducing road accidents by half by 2025.
MLAs also requested to reduce the area accidents
In the 19th meeting of the National Road Safety Council, Gadkari also suggested the use of social media for awareness and education on road safety. He had said that he has requested all the MLAs to focus on reducing accidents in their constituencies.
