A major facility for Aadhaar holders has been resumed. UIDAI has once again allowed people to update demographic details at home in Aadhaar.
Now you can update your name, address, date of birth and gender in your home base. UIDAI has given this information by tweeting itself.
In fact, UIDAI had stopped the facility of updating the demographic details online. Aadhaar card holders could update only the address sitting at home. Apart from this, one had to visit the Aadhaar center to update any demographic details.
Keep in mind that it is important to register your mobile number in Aadhaar because in the process of updation, OTP will come on the same mobile number.
To update name, address, date of birth and gender visit https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/.
Click on ‘Proceed to update basis’.
After this, a new page will open here, type the 12 digit Aadhaar number, enter the captcha code. After this, click on Send OTP.
OTP will come on mobile number.
Submit the OTP by placing it in the specified space.
After this, a new page will open again and two options will be found here- 1- Updation of Demographic details including address with supporting document proof.
‘Update Demographics Data’ to update the name, date of birth, gender, address with the document proof.
After this, choose the detail you want to update,the further process will be completed.
Keep these things in mind
Aadhaar can be updated twice in life, once in gender, once in date of birth.
Color scanned copy of valid document proof has to be uploaded.
No proof is required for gender updation.
If there is no valid address proof in the name of the Aadhaar card holder, then he can update the address with the help of the address validation letter.
