South Africa will play their first Test in Pakistan after 14 years tomorrow. It is being called the revival moment of international cricket in Pakistan. The match starting in Karachi on Tuesday is important for Pakistan as international cricket was suspended in Pakistan after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009.
After this, foreign teams refused to visit terrorism affected Pakistan for fear of security and in the last six years only Pakistan hosted limited overs series. Test cricket was first revived with the tour of Sri Lanka team in December 2019. Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Wasim Khan said that the visit to South Africa is important and strong security has been put in place on the venue.

Babur Azam’s debut as test captain
With tomorrow’s match, Babar will debut with Azam as Pakistan’s Test captain. After losing 2–0 in the Test in New Zealand last month, it will be a big challenge for Babar to win Pakistan.
Azam has returned to fit after a thumb fracture away from the New Zealand tour. There are 6 uncapped players in his team. There is a lot of hope from spinners Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan.
Spinner big factor
South African captain Quinton de Kock said that he considers spin a big factor. He has chosen Keshav Maharaj as his frontline spinner. The African team has defeated Sri Lanka 2–0 in their recent series. De Kock also worries that none of his players have played at Pakistan’s home before. He said that he does not know much about the conditions here and this will be his biggest challenge.
