Covid vaccination campaign is going to start in the country from Saturday. No one, including the public representative, should try to take a leap. Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned down the proposal to vaccinate all MPs and MLAs on priority, saying that it would give a very bad signal to the people.
Prime Minister Modi had a meeting between the Chief Ministers on Monday on the Covid vaccination campaign. Meanwhile, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy demanded that MPs and MLAs should be given the Covid-19 vaccine on a priority basis. MPs and MLAs are also at the forefront in dealing with the virus and they are to interact with the people of their constituencies.
Prime Minister Modi has previously rejected the proposal to vaccinate MLAs and MPs. Modi clarified that in the first phase three crore health workers and front line workers will be given the vaccine. The central government will bear all the expenses in this phase. Their number will be 27 crores. The Prime Minister said that by the end of the first phase we will have many more vaccines. We will consider them again.
The Prime Minister also gave a special instruction to the Chief Ministers. The Prime Minister said that in the vaccination campaign, special care should be taken that no leader was able to break the line. The representatives of the public should also get the vaccine only when their turn comes.
The Prime Minister spoke to the Chief Ministers of all the states regarding the vaccination campaign. The Prime Minister said that if talk to the manger will not work. Many selfish elements of the country and the world will hamper our campaign. Sometimes there will be a corporate rivalry, sometimes there will be a corporate rivalry.
