A UK court will give its verdict today on extradition of wanted diamond businessman Nirav Modi to India in the case of fraud of about $ 2 billion from Punjab National Bank.
49-year-old Nirav Modi is expected to appear in Westminster magistrate court via video link from Wandsworth prison in south-west London. District Judge Samuel Gooji will give his verdict on whether there is any case for the diamond trader to appear before the Indian courts.
However, depending on the verdict, either side is also expected to do its case in the High Court.
Nirav Modi was arrested on 19 March 2019 on an extradition warrant and during several hearings in connection with the extradition case, he was involved via video link from Wandsworth Jail.
