In Parliament today, President Ram Nath Kovind strongly condemned the violence during the Kisan Tractor March on 26 January in his address. He said that the insult of Republic Day and the national flag are very unfortunate. Along with this, the President supported the government’s agricultural laws and told them in the interest of farmers.

New Delhi: The budget session began with the address of President Ram Nath Kovind in Parliament today.
The President also referred to the protests by the farmers regarding the agricultural laws. He described the violence during the Farmers Tractor March in Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day on 26 January as tragic.

This is very unfortunate. The constitution gives us the right to freedom of expression, the same constitution teaches us that law and rule should be followed equally seriously.
Government’s agricultural laws are in the interest of farmers
Along with this, the President told the government three new agricultural laws in the interest of farmers. He said that ‘after extensive deliberations, Parliament passed three months ago three important agrarian reforms, Farmer Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Simplification) Bill, Agriculture (Empowerment and Protection) Price Realizing these benefits to the small farmers, many political parties had given their full support to these reforms from time to time.
