We always hear the news of banking frauds categorized as cyber crimes or cyber frauds. They send the links or messages via mail or message. Sometimes users receive spam calls to share OTP pins or their personal information.
SBI recently tweeted a news alert regarding these fraud events. Hackers have planned a new way to target innocent customers, they are sending phishing links to users with the intent to steal their personal and financial information.

With this official tweet, they have asked the users not to pay attention to such links.
These are cyber hacking activities performed by spammers and cyber attackers. SBI sources have also mentioned one more important thing. Many apps are available on the play store to ease the mode of transaction and banking facilities, some of them are government certified or verified but some are just created by hackers and cyber attackers.
- Before downloading or clicking on any link related to banking activities, verify their source if the link is secured or not?
- Read other user’s reviews and opinions regarding the app and such links?
- Verify the news of surprising gifts or new offers from any sources on the name of the bank?
- No bank asks you to share personal or financial information, mobile no., OTP, Adhar, or PAN card?
In case you receive the link or message or call or mail regarding the above information or KYC update, ignore them and directly go to your nearest bank branch for confirmation.
Also, go to your nearest police station to report them about such spam emails and messages so they can track the address.
