Taking a dig at the opposition, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is baseless to accuse the Modi government of crony capitalism.
New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today dismissed the allegations of opposition parties and said that it is not right to accuse Modi government of crony capitalism. Nirmala said in Rajya Sabha, “Despite the plans of our government for the betterment of the common man, the opposition is creating a false story that the government is working for the powerful capitalists.”
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while replying to the discussion on the budget, said, “Schemes like construction of roads in villages, electricity in every village, putting money in small farmers’ accounts are for the poor and not for the capitalists.”
He said that allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for 2021-22 has been reduced under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi by not giving list of small and marginal farmers from West Bengal. Nirmala Sitharaman said that the utilization of funds allocated under MNREGA has increased in our government.
He said that along with immediate assistance in the budget, attention has been given to maintain sustainable economic growth in the medium and long term.
