The round of elections is coming once again in UP. Under this, elections are being held in 12 seats of the Legislative Council in January. BJP has started the process of deciding its candidates for this.
Lucknow: Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are to be held in the year 2022, but before that, in March, Panchayat elections and even before these panchayat elections, 12 seats of the Legislative Council are to be held in January.
The Election Commission can soon issue notification regarding these elections.
Seats are vacant on 30 January
There are 12 seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council are vacant on January 30, out of which seven seats are with the SP, three with the BJP and two with the BSP.
The three seats of the BJP being vacant include Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma, BJP State President Swatantra Dev Singh and Laxman Archaya coming from the PM’s parliamentary constituency.
The MLAs will vote in the elections to these seats of the Legislative Council. To win a seat will require around 30-31 votes and in this sense BJP will easily win 10 seats. That is, he has only three seats out of it, but now he can win seven more seats.
