Lucknow: The Panchayati Raj Department has issued a mandate related to the Reservation Rules regarding the Panchayat elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh. Reservation will be applied by rotation arrangement in the election.
Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department Manoj Kumar Singh said that in the implementation of reservation, cognizance of the last 5 elections since 1995 is being taken. First of all, reservation will be imposed where no reservation was made earlier. That is, posts which have never been reserved before, will be given preference. Apart from this, cognizance of which posts were reserved for the last five elections will be taken.
Additional Chief Secretary informed that on Friday, reservation of the posts of District Panchayat Presidents and Block Chiefs will be released. Apart from this, reservation of gram panchayats will be continued at the district level.

This process will be adopted regarding reservation
For example, if there is no reserved post of Zilla Panchayat, then it can be reserved. Similarly, reservation of remaining posts will be seen. There were 2 Zilla Panchayats in the state which were not reserved for the schedule cast till date. At the same time there were 7 district panchayats that were not reserved for women. The seats of the district panchayats will be reserved from 11 to 15 February.
District-wise reservation will be done in 826 blocks of the state and the reservation process of Panchayats will also be continued at the state level. One who has to file an objection, will have to file in writing from March 2 to March 8.
Reservation of wards of Gram Panchayat, Kshetra Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat will be determined in the next one month. In April, 58,194 gram panchayats, 7,31,813 gram panchayat members, 75,855 kshetra panchayat members, 3,051 zila panchayat members will be elected. After this, 826 block chiefs and 75 district panchayat presidents.
