Lucknow: After the break-up of the glacier in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Sunday, the UP government has increased its activity for relief work. State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday sent a team of ministers under the leadership of Sugarcane Development Minister Suresh Rana to coordinate with Uttarakhand.

According to the official spokesperson, on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has formed a three-member committee headed by sugarcane development and sugar industry minister Suresh Rana to coordinate with the Uttarakhand government. It also includes ministers Dharam Singh Saini and Vijay Kashyap. On Tuesday, this group of ministers left for Uttarakhand.

Apart from this, a team of officers has also been formed under the leadership of Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avnish Awasthi to coordinate with the Uttarakhand Government and Administration. According to the spokesperson, a control room has been set up at Relief Commissioner’s office in Lucknow, number 1070, for assistance. Control rooms have also been set up in the districts of disaster affected UP, where the administration, police and irrigation department employees are offering their services for 24 hours.
Will meet CM Trivendra Rawat
Before leaving for Uttarakhand on Tuesday, Suresh Rana said in a conversation with news agency ‘PTI’ on phone, “I will reach Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat with my two associate ministers first.” That, “Work will be done by making proper coordination for the search of those who have gone missing in this tragedy and for the cremation of those who have become time-bound.”
UP government will cooperate in all possible ways of Uttarakhand
The sugarcane minister informed that a help center and control room has been set up in Haridwar. He said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly stated that the Uttar Pradesh government will extend all possible support to Uttarakhand and will give two lakh rupees separately to the families of those who have died in this tragedy. Apart from this, for the better treatment of the injured, coordination will be made as far as possible.
Ready to face the challenge
Rana said that in Uttar Pradesh, the government has looted the authorities in the areas affected by the Ganges and its ally Alaknanda river. Officials of the Home Department including Jal Shakti, Flood Control are ready to coordinate and tackle any challenge.
